An exhibition of Art Works by Claudia Shneider.

Her solo shows in South Africa include Bite at the Standard Bank Gallery in Johannesburg, Talking in my tongue at the Joao Ferreira Gallery in Cape Town and Showmaster at the JAG – Johannesburg Art Gallery.

She has taught as a guest professor at the University of Arts in Berlin and at the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou.

She loves working with and encouraging other artists – being on the fringe delights her.

So in 2008/9 she founded the Johannesburg Fringe whose art activities continue to fascinate and enthrall art lovers annually.

Her name is Claudia Shneider and this December she will be exhibiting at Fresh Paint Gallery in Smithfield.

Her passion for art is infectious and it infected me to such an extent I asked her whether she would be interested in playing an active role in bringing a Southern Free State Fringe Art Festival into being – to my delight her answer was an enthusiastic YES! As a first step in this direction it was decide to try and “artify” Smithfield over this years holiday season (12 Dec – 12 Jan) accordingly contact is being made with local and other Free State artists and anybody interested in participating should contact Greg May of Fresh Paint Gallery on 0828940769.

Claudia really enjoys what is happening in Smithfield, she believes that continued involvement with the arts both performing and visual (well done Platteland Preview) is essential to Smithfield becoming recognized  as special place to visit,

Claudia Shneider will be exhibiting at Fresh Paint Gallery from 12 December through to early January, more news of proposed art activities in December will appear in the next Smiffie.
